HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Endicott scored the opening point before Rivier responded with a block by first-year Everett Boyer and sophomore Cody Fitzpatrick to make it 3–3. During a serving run by senior Bassam Awde, the Raiders added a service ace and a kill from Awde to extend the lead to 8–3. Later in the set, kills by first-year Kenji Clark and Fitzpatrick pushed the margin further. Senior Matthew McCloskey recorded closed out the frame, 25-16, with consecutive aces.
  • The Gulls opened the set with three straight points to take an early lead. Rivier answered with kills from, Clark, junior Tyler Dickinson, and Fitzpatrick to remain within reach. A block by McCloskey and Boyer added another Raider point during the middle portion of the set. Clark and Boyer recorded late kills for Rivier before Endicott secured the final point to take the set, 25-21.
  • The Gulls began the third set with a service ace and built a 5–0 lead. Rivier recorded its first point on a kill by Awde. The Raiders later added points on kills by Clark and Awde, along with a block by Dickinson and Awde to make it 18-8. Endicott finished the set with a kill secure the 25–13 set win.
  • Dickinson and Awde got things started in the fourth, blocking the opening swing from the Gulls. The Raiders maintained the lead until an error knotted up the set at 6. Endicott took the lead with a kill by Aidan Iacovelli to take the lead and never look back. Rivier chipped away at the deficit late with junior Justin Barish and McCloskey contributing kills late in the frame, but the Gulls maintained the lead and a kill from Aaron Bennett recorded the final point to close the match, 25-15.
