MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Rivier baseball team lost to La Roche,12-4, in non-conference action, Friday Morning at Ebbets Field.
With the result, the Raiders fell to 1-5, while the Redhawks improved to 5-9.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Redhawks struck first, but the Raiders quickly answered as junior Liam Stott ripped a base hit that brought classmate Sebastien Reis racing home to even things up.
- In the third inning, La Roche broke the game open, pushing across four runs to jump ahead 5-1.
- Rivier battled right back in the next frame, plating three runs to cut the deficit to one, 5-4. Junior Nathan Innerfield, sophomore Brady Balint, and Stott each delivered an RBI in the rally.
- Over the final five innings, the Redhawks pulled away, adding seven more runs while holding the Raiders scoreless to secure the 12-4 victory.
BOX SCORE BREAKDOWN
- Stott led the offense, going 3-of-5 with two RBI
- Sophomore David Miller went 2-of-4 with a triple.
