NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. – The Rivier baseball team fell in seven innings to Anna Maria, 11-1, in non-conference action on Wednesday afternoon at the New England Baseball Complex.
With the result, the Raiders dropped to 3-7, while the AMCATs improved to 8-5.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After a scoreless opening frame, the AMCATS broke through with two runs on a five-hit second inning.
- Anna Maria then extended the lead by a pair in the fifth inning, keeping Rivier scoreless.
- The Raiders got one back in the sixth as senior Dylan Aliberti and sophomore Brady Balint drew back-to-back walks, followed by a single from first-year Kian Littlefield to load the bases. First-year Austin Suchecki was then hit by a pitch to bring Aliberti home, but the AMCATS turned a double play to limit the damage to one run, 4-1.
- Anna Maria broke it open in the seventh with a scoring surge, pushing the lead to 11-1.
BOX SCORE BREAKDOWN
- Senior Owen Medlock and first-year Ian McDonald each recorded a stolen base.
- Junior Sean Kulhoff made the start on the mound, tossing 4.2 innings, striking out two batters.

The Raiders return to action Saturday, March 21, opening Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play with a doubleheader at Saint Joseph (Conn.). First pitch is set for 12:00 p.m., with game two scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
