NASHUA, N.H. – The Rivier women's lacrosse team defeated Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) opponent Elms, 15-2, Saturday evening at Joanne Merrill Field.
With the win, the Raiders improved to 5-5 (3-3 GNAC), while the Blazers fell to 0-9 (0-6 GNAC)
HOW IT HAPPENED
- It took just 39 seconds for the first goal to be scored, as junior Sofia Cebrero found the back of the net to give Rivier an early 1–0 lead. Elms tied the game with a free-position goal at 12:46, but the Raiders responded with five unanswered goals to close the opening quarter. Sophomore Ashlynn Ledoux reclaimed the lead with a free-position goal, followed by an unassisted tally from first-year Hayleigh Young. Cebrero added her second goal on a woman-up opportunity at 7:12, completed her hat trick nearly three minutes later with another free-position conversion, and Ledoux capped the quarter with a woman-up goal at 3:34 to give Rivier a 6–1 advantage.
- First-years Olivia Wheeler and Emma Finch accounted for the lone goals of the second quarter. Wheeler netted a woman-up free-position goal at 14:04, followed just 28 seconds later by Finch's woman-up tally at 13:36.
- Sophomore Keegan McGaheran opened the second half with a woman-up goal at 10:10, extending Rivier's lead to 9–1. Wheeler recorded her second woman-advantage goal of the contest to push the margin to nine. The Blazers added their second goal of the game before Ledoux secured her hat trick at 5:58 off an assist from Cebrero. Sophomore Brooke Carter closed out the third-quarter scoring with her first goal of the contest.
- Three Raiders found the back of the net in route to their 15-2 win over Elms. Carter and Finch recorded woman-up goals at 10:10 and 6:24, respectively. Young sealed the game with 1:25 remaining with an unassisted goal.
BOX SCORE BREAKDOWN
- Cebrero paced the offense with five points, followed by Ledoux with four.
- First-year Arrianna Imbriano made two saves in the outing.
- First-year Chloe Waldron recorded a team-high six ground balls, followed by Young with five.
- Young added a team-high eight draw controls.
- In addition to her two goals, Wheeler caused three turnovers.

The Raiders return to action Tuesday, March 31 with a conference matchup with Norwich. The opening draw is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at Sabine Field at Haynes Family Stadium.
