FRAMINGHAM, Mass. – The Rivier field hockey team dropped its first road contest of the 2026 campaign to non-conference opponent Framingham St., 6-2, Thursday evening at Maple Street Field.
With the loss, the Raiders fell to 0-2, while the Rams improved to 1-0.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Framingham St. began the scoring 12 seconds into the opening frame.
- The Rams recorded three more goals over a three-minute stretch, increasing their advantage to four.
- Rivier got on the board with 3:37 remaining in the first, as sophomore Camdyn Despres netted the unassisted tally.
- Framingham St.'s defense was on show in the second quarter, limiting Rivier to zero total shots. The Rams registered nine shots in the frame, but were unable to convert, leaving the score unchanged heading into the break.
- After 10 minutes of scoreless action in the third quarter, Framingham St. added their fifth goal of the contest, capitalizing on a rebound opportunity.
- First-year Trista Strickland logged the Raiders' second goal of the evening following a lengthy offensive half possession.
- The Rams scored the game's final goal with just under two minutes remaining in the game, securing the 6-2 victory.
