WINTHROP, Mass. – Following a three defensive save week, Rivier field hockey senior, Sophia Quinlan, has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon.

Quinlan began the week registering two defensive saves, along with a goal in Raiders' season opener against reigning Little East Conference (LEC) Champions Keene St. The Salem, N.H. native contributed another defensive save in a non-conference meeting with Framingham St.

Quinlan and the Raiders return to the field Thursday, Sept. 10 for a non-conference matchup with Fitchburg St. The game is set to begin at 6:30 p.m. at Joanne Merrill Field.
