Nashua - Spencer Bernard (Windsor Locks, Conn.) scored two goals
and set up another and Alex Jackson (Kent, Ohio) potted two more
leading the Daniel Webster College men's soccer squad to a 4-0
shutout victory over intracity rival Rivier College before 150
patrons Saturday afternoon at Eagle Field.
Fred Jacobs (Wrentham, Mass.) made four saves as the Eagles
evened their record to 6-6 on the season, and kept the Raiders
(0-11) winless. The win also marked the second highest wins total
in a season for the Eagle program.
John Jarvis (St. Albans, Vt.) made five saves
for Rivier.
Jackson got the Eagles going knocking in a breakaway goal off a
Bernard feed 21:12 into the contest.
The Eagles pulled away with three scores in the second half.
Bernard put the hosts ahead 2-0 knocking home a Oscar Borjesson
(Stockholm, Sweden) feed at the 51:26 mark and notched his second
off a partial break off a Nicolas Klesh (Bedford, N.H.) feed just
1:02 later.
Jackson closed out the scoring with a 15-yarder to beat Jarvis
with 9:48 remaining.
