Wildcats Pounce All Over Raiders

Nashua, NH - In women's soccer action, the Wildcats of Johnson and Wales University defeated Rivier College 4-0 on a beautiful fall afternoon in Nashua, NH.

Spirit was out in force today as Rivier College hosted its annual Spirit Day and open house.  The women's soccer team played in front of more than 100 student and fans, some with painted faces, most with Rivier apparel and all with great sportsmanship.

Johnson and Wales wasted no time at all in the first game of a women's, men's double header when Stephania Cubelli  scored the game's first goal just 4 minutes into play.  The goal came off an assist by Brooke Hutchinson, who had two assists on the day.  JWU scored again with only 6 seconds left in the half when Amanda Aguiar took a centering pass from Megan Chacusky to take a 2-0 lead into halftime.

The second half belonged to Samantha Reynolds who scored both JWU goals only 6 six minutes apart.  The first came from an assist by Jennifer Paquin, the second from Hutchinson.

Rivier Goalkeeper Brittany Puleo had 10 saves on the day; however, The Raiders were outshot 14-3 as the offense never found its stride.   The win improves Johnson & Wales to a 9-6-1 record, while the Raiders fall to 3-10-0.
