HERSEY REACHES MAJOR MILESTONE

Senior Nicole Hersey became only the second player in program history to reach 1000 kills in a career reaching the milestone in a hard fought 5 set loss to Bates College on Friday night. The 5'8 outside hitter from Milton, NH tallied her 1000th kill in the first set against Bates and went on to score 37 total kills for the rest of the tournament to lead the Raiders.  Senior setter Laura Ciummo, who reached 3000 assists earlier in the year, directed the Raiders offense well tallying 127 assists. Senior libero Colleen Van Cura was steady all weekend as she lead the Raider defense with 61 digs along with solid passing. Sophomore opposite Danielle Jacques put down 36 kills while freshman Lauren Saccoccio lead all Raiders with 10 service aces. First year setter Caitie Callahan filled in nicely with 28 assists and utility player Becky Gautreau scooped up 28 digs while punching in 9 kills on 17 attempts with just 2 errors for a .411 hitting percentage.
