Rivier 76
Saint Joseph-CT 50
Riv (8-4; 1-0) dominated the defensive side of the ball for the
full 40 minutes while picking up their second consecutive win. The
Raiders held the Blue Jays to just 25% shooting for the game (17%
from beyond the arc). Riv got back to dominating the boards after a
2 game hiatus. The 60-38 edge on the glass provided some easy
putbacks and transition baskets.

The Raiders were paced by junior Jess Mellen and
freshman Allie Parent. Mellen had a monster game
as she filled up the stat sheet with 23 points, 17 rebounds, 6
assists and 4 steals. Parent dropped in a career-high 18 points to
go with 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Senior Justine
Nims picked up another double-double with 10 points and 11
rebounds. Junior Blair Carpenter chipped in with
10 points, 3 assists and 3 rebounds. Sophomores Steph
Adams and Courtney Contigiani gave
quality minutes off the bench combining for 8 points and 11
rebounds
