#10 Rivier College (1-0 GNAC; 4-1 overall) won their first GNAC match of the year with a 3-0 sweep over Johnson & Wales University.  The Raiders offense hit for a .412 clip to control the Wildcats and the match.  Rhode Island native and AVCA Player of the Week, Matt Ferreira, dominated the match with an impressive outing.  The 6'6 junior middle hitter tallied a team high 4 blocks on defense while registering 11 kills and a .733 hitting percentage (11-0-15) on offense.  Setter Zach Hansen directed the Raiders offense with 31 assists and played steady defense with 9 digs. The outside hitter trio of Chris Deluca, Austin Soucy, and Jared Andreozzi combined for 19 kills and a .404 hitting percentage while first year players Andrew Paine and Alex Xenidis chipped in with 2 kills a piece.  Libero Kyle O'Neill passed well with only 1 error on 18 attempts and scooped up a team high 10 digs.
