Rivier 81 Emmanuel 96
Riv took on top-ranked conference opponent Emmanuel College and
came up on the wrong side of a 15-point game. The 96 points were
the most the Raiders have given up all season. Riv went on a 5-0
run early in the second half to know the game up at 48. The Raiders
continued to keep the game within 4-5 points but the Saints picked
up their defensive pressure which resulted in an 8-0 Emmanuel run.
That run, and 13 missed free throws, accounted for the final
score.
Riv was led by a career performance from freshman Allie
Parent. Parent dropped in 28 points (on 9 for 11 from the
field) to go with a team-high 4 assists. Junior Jess
Mellen picked up another double-double as she had 13
points and 10 rebounds (5 offensive). Junior Monica
White played a solid all-around game as she tallied 12
points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists. Junior Blair
Carpenter did a little bit of everything as she finished
with 9 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals. Freshman
Danielle Stoodley gave huge minutes off the bench.
She chipped in with 9 points, 7 rebounds and 2 steals.
