New Haven, CT- The Albertus Magnus College Men's Soccer Team
cruised to a 4-0 win over visiting Rivier College on Monday
afternoon. The Falcons lead 3-0 at the half and would add
another goal early in the second half to result in a 4-0 final
score. Senior Goalkeeper Geral O'Connor (Hamden, CT) had 9
saves in the shut-out. The Falcons received goals from
sophomores Jamal Howard (West Haven, CT) and Kyle Kelly (Stratford,
CT) as well as goals from freshman James Luchessi (Norwalk, CT) and
Alphonse Buccitti (West Haven, CT).
Rivier was able to outshoot the Falcons 15-13, but couldn't get
the ball past O'Connor. Junior goal keeper John
Jarvis (Henniker, NH) was touched for 3 goals in the
first half and was replaced by freshman Matt St. Peter
(Colchester, VT) in the second, who held the Falcons
to just 1 goal for the remainder of the game.
Albertus Magnus College improves to 7-5-1, 3-3 GNAC while Rivier
College drops to 1-10-0, 0-5-0 GNAC. Rivier will host Suffolk
University on Saturday, October 17th for a 2:30 PM GNAC game.
