Nashua, NH - Rivier College Women Soccer team played host to
Emmanuel College today in a GNAC battle. Rivier having had their
game postponed this past Saturday had been inactive for a week and
it showed today against Emmanuel College from Boston.
The young Raiders never really took their warm ups off tonight
and Emmanuel College took it to them. The Raiders never got into
their high pressure style and as a result watched as the Saints
just moved the ball all over the field creating chance after chance
and leaving goal keeper Britt Puleo (Hudson NH)
left out to dry. Freshmen Goal Keeper Karina
Arnold of New London, NH would come in for the final 25
minutes of the game for Puleo and do a nice job after Puleo got a
little nicked up.
The Raiders also got some good play and a spark from back up
defender Tasha Lambert from Milton NH. The
Raiders had a few chances tonight, one when Lauren
Bradshaw (Nashua , NH) hit the cross bar late in the first
half and if it had gone in, would have tied the game and one can
only speculate what would have happened from there. But it did not
and Emmanuel scored 4 more unanswered goals over the rest of the
game.
Emmanuel moves to 5-2-1 in the conference and 7-5-1 overall.
With the loss , Rivier fall to 1-4-1 in the conference and
3-5-1 overall and will be home on Saturday at 2:30pm against
another Conference Rival, St. Joseph's of CT and a chance to put
this loss in the review mirror.
