Nashua, NH - Rivier College (7-8 overall; 1-1 GNAC) swept both
Rhode Island College and Salem State College at The Muldoon on
Saturday. The two wins helped Coach Kolek reach a major
milestone of 201 victories with the Raiders.
In the first match against RIC the Raiders offense was running
full tilt with a .372 hitting percentage. Junior
Danielle Jacques was solid with a team high 10
kills on 23 attempts with just 1 error for a .391 hitting
percentage. Freshman Kenna Finlayson pounded
out 7 kills and also lit up the Anchormen for 8 ace
serves. Setter/hitter Lauren Saccoccio
played great all the way around with 18 assists, 7 kills, 4 digs,
and 1 block. Setter Caitie Callahan dished
out 13 assists and scooped up 6 digs while back row specialists
Emileigh Cenedella and Danielle
Stoodley combined for 23 digs.
Against Salem State it was the Raider first year players who
made a difference. Outside hitter Kenna
Finlayson pounded out a team high 11 kills and 4 ace
serves to lead the attack. First year setter Christi
Pratte dished out 18 assists while rookie outside hitters
Courtney Roberts-Cookson and
Meghan Farrell passed well
and tallied 7 digs and 4 kills respectively. Sophomore
Kate-Lyn Breault put down 5 kills on 10 attempts
with just 1 error for a .400 hitting percentage while senior
Becky Gautreau showed good leadership with 6
digs.
