The Raiders (10-3; 2-0) increase their win streak to five games
with a hard-fought victory over Emerson College. Riv took away the
Lions long-range game as they held the home team to just 14% from
beyond the arc. The Raiders shot 46% from the floor and 77% from
the charity stripe in the second half to put the game out of reach.
The Blue and Gray also held a critical 20-rebound advantage over
Emerson.
Sophomore Amandra Purcell (Hudson, NH) dropped
in a game-high 15 points including two crucial bombs from deep to
keep the Lions at bay. Purcell added 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 2
steals. Senior Jess Mellen (Rockland, MA) was
dominant with a double-double of 13 points and 12 rebounds. Mellen
added a game-high 4 assists. Senior Monica White
(Augusta, ME) played a great all-around game as she chipped in with
13 points and 9 rebounds (team-high 4 offensive). Junior
Steph Adams (Nashua, NH) and, reigning GNAC Rookie
of the Week, Mackenzie Brooks (Colebrook, NH)
continue to be forces in the paint. They combined for 17 points, 13
rebounds and 6 blocks. Freshman Ashley Metivier
(Hudson, NH) also played well as she dropped 10 points (6 for 6
from the free throw line) and grabbed 3 rebounds.
The Raiders hit the road again on Thursday night for a
non-conference match-up against the Colonels of Curry College. Tip
is scheduled for 7pm.
