Nashua, NH - It was Dig Pink night at the Muldoon Health &
Fitness Center as the Rivier College Raiders hosted Lasell College
in a GNAC volleyball match. The Raiders prevailed 3-1 in the
match while also raising money to support the Susan G. Komen for
the Cure Foundation.
Rivier College (4-0 GNAC; 10-8 overall) defeated Lasell College
3-1 to win their 4th straight GNAC match of the season. Rivier,
doing their best impression of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, came out
firing in set 1 with a team .323 hitting percentage and near
flawless play only to follow up with 17 errors and inconsistent
play in set 2. The Blue and White regrouped in sets 3 and 4,
including a dominant 25-8 white wash in the 3rd stanza, and
defeated Lasell to remain undefeated in GNAC play.
Senior Nicole Rodriguez (Newton, MA) took
over the match for Rivier with a dominant all around performance.
The 5'8 middle hitter led Rivier with 6 ace serves, 5 blocks, and a
.421 hitting percentage which included 10 kills on 18 attempts with
just 2 errors. Libero Emileigh Cenedella
(Townsend, MA) was steady all match with a perfect 14 for 14
on receive and a team high 21 digs while setter Lauren Saccoccio (Warwick, RI) dished out 38 assists and
picked apart Lasell's receive with 6 ace serves. Kenna Finlayson (Derry, NH) had a match high 17 kills while
Danielle Jacques (Derry, NH), Nicole Peacock (Warwick, RI), and Meghan Farrell(Marlborough, MA) combined for 21 kills. The
back row combo of Caitlin Callahan (Dedham,
MA) and Jessica Amaral (E. Providence,
RI) scooped up 8 digs for RIV.
Lasell (3-4 GNAC; 7-10 overall) was led by junior
middle hitter Danielle Drapeau (Biddeford, ME) who tallied a team
high 10 kills and added 1 block. Setter Meghan Crozier
(Balston Spa, NY) dished out 24 assists while libero Sarah
Eisenberg (Westfield, MA) had a team high 14 digs.

Rivier will hope to continue their GNAC win streak on Saturday
October 9 when they take on Pine Manor College at noon followed by
a 2:00pm match against Simmons College. All games will be held at
Pine Manor College. Lasell will travel to Salve Regina
University on Thursday for a 7:00 PM non-conference match.
