Brookline, MA - No-7 Rivier College (18-4 overall; 7-0 GNAC)
defeated Newbury College in 3 straight sets to improve to 18-4 on
the season. The Raiders used well placed serves, scrappy
floor defense, and timely blocks to handle the home team.
Senior setter Zach Hansen led the charge by
registering a double double with 27 assists and 12 digs along
with 3 blocks and 2 ace serves. Junior Jared
Andreozzi led RIV in 4 categories with a team high 15
kills, a .429 hitting percentage, 4 blocks, and 4 ace
serves while freshman middle hitter Taylor Lindner
followed with 8 kills, a .312 hitting percentage and 3
blocks. John Furka, Matt
Ferreira, and Alex Xenidis combined for
13 kills in the front row while the back row trio of Drew
Corwin, Chris Convertito, and
Andrew Paine combined for 16 digs.
Francis Dallatore came off the bench and played
well for the Blue and White.
