West Haven, CT - Rivier pounded out nine hits but could only
come up with four runs in the first game of a GNAC double header
played at Quigley Stadium. The hit parade was lead by Gil
Luis (Miami, FL) with three singles and two runs
scored. Ryan O'Connor (Medford, MA) had two
singles and one run scored. Freshman Kyle Bowser
(Newington, NH) crushed a double to left plating two runs.
Chris Hunt (Lisbon, NH) contributed two
singles and an RBI. Jeff Breslin (Westford,
MA) chipped in with a single. The Raiders fell to the
Falcons 8–4 behind the pitching of starter Shaun
Hanson (Lee, NH), Artie Hoffman (Malden,
MA) pitched 1+ innings in relief.
In game two of the double header, senior Jesse Dryz
(Hyannis, MA) settled in after giving up three hits and
zero runs in the top of the first inning. Dryz allowed only three
more hits over his five innings of work. Dryz was outstanding
in the victory, striking out four and walking two as he
notched his first victory of the season. Rivier mashed out
twelve hits in game #2. Gil Luis knocked out four
hits, scored two more runs and stole three bases. Ryan
O'Connor and his hot bat had two more hits and two runs
scored. Pat Brooks (Milford, NH) added two
walks and a single. Chris Hunt slammed an RBI
single and a two run double to blow the game open for the Raiders.
Jeff Breslin continued his hard hitting ways with
two more singles and two runs scored. Senior Shaun
Hanson had a walk and another two runs scored. Freshman
Pitcher Artie Hoffman set the side down 1-2-3 in
the bottom of the seventh. The Raiders earned the split with a
12–5 victory.
