Nashua, NH- The Raiders Women's Lacrosse team (3-5, 2-3)
got their third win of the season by defeating Pine Manor (1-7,
1-6) 13-8. The Raiders took a commanding 8-3 lead in the first half
and never looked back as they got 5 more goals in the second half
on 26 shots. The defense also played well as they held the
Gators to just 25 shots and forced 8 turnovers in the game.
Goalie Lauren Hall (Pelham, NH) had a nice game
between the pipes as she made 12 saves on the night for her first
win of the season. Natalie Bonvie (Salem,
NH) got the Raiders offense going as she had 2 goals and 2
assists for a game high 4 points. Lauren Brett
(Otisfield, ME) and Brittany Gunn (Milford,
MA) each recorded 3 points in the game for the
Raiders. Senior Sarah Wilson (Stow, MA)
contributed to the win with 2 goals of her own.
The Gators played well considering they were down two players
throughout the game. Beth Deegan (Philadelphia, PA) kept the
Raiders defense on their toes as she put 4 goals in the back of the
net on 7 shots. Myrell Redmond (Baltimore, MD) had a solid
game as she scored 3 goals during the game. Molly Manley
(East Greenbush, NY) rounded out the Gators offense with a lone
goal. Gator goalkeeper Colleen Tencza (South Meriden, CT)
made it hard to put the ball in the back of the net as she made 18
saves in the game.
The Raiders host Emerson tomorrow night at 8:00 PM while the
Gators will be at Elms College on Wednesday April 13, 2010 for a
7:00 PM start.
