Nashua, NH- Regis College seemed to be running circles around
Rivier in a 14-0 win for the Pride's final game of the
year. Regis got the first goal on the board in the first
three minutes of the game as Brad Hasting (Mansfield, MA) was able
to find the back of the net. The Pride's Tim Wells
(Weston, MA) had the hot hand early on as he was able to put 4 of
his 5 goals in the back of the net in the first half.
The Raiders offense were able to fire off 6 shots in the first
half, but failed to get any in the back of the net. SiPan Leong
(East Boston, MA) ended the half by sneaking one by Matt
Besaw (Glenn Falls, NY) for a half time score of
7-0. The second half wasn't much better for the Raiders
and their D as they allowed 10 goals on 24 shots and didn't
put much pressure on the Prides D were they only able to get 5
shots off in the second half.
Wells added an assist to his 5 goals to lead all scorers with 6
points for the game. Hasting and Derek Brown (Brighton, Mass)
each put in 2 goals while Leong and Michael Kaplan (Braintree,
Mass) gave the Pride good minutes off the bench as they each
recorded 2 points during the game. The Pride
goalie Andrew LaMacchi (Lynn, Mass) got the win and the shut out
for Regis as he was able to stop 5 of the Raiders 11 shots during
the game. Besaw was the one bright spot on the field for the
Raiders as he made 28 saves on the Pride.
While the Pride's season has ended, the Raiders will
finish their inaugural season on Saturday May 1, 2010 where they
will take on cross town rival Daniel Webster for the second time
this year.
