Nashua, NH - Freshman Sarah Richard (Raymond,
NH) scored in the 86th minute of today's women's GNAC
soccer game in Nashua, NH to lift the home team, Rivier College,
past the Gators of Pine Manor College.
The Raiders finally had the offense flowing as they took a
season high 24 shots against the Gators. With 11 shots on goal, the
Raiders were making Pine Manor goal keeper Colleen Tencza (S.
Meriden, CT) work hard to keep her team in the game. Tencza made 9
saves on the day before allowing Richard to take a pass from
freshman Hillary Hee (Colchester, VT) for the game
winning goal.
Rivier's freshman goal keeper Christine Surber (Langdon,
NH) had her second shutout in the team's first three
games, making 6 saves on the afternoon and picking up her second
win.
Rivier Moves to 2-1 in the season and 1-0 in the conference.
Pine Manor falls to 0-2 and 0-1 in the conference. The Raiders
travel to Farmington Maine to take on the Beavers of UMaine –
Farmington in a non conference match tomorrow, Sunday 9/12/10. The
Raiders next home match is Sunday 9/19/10 vs. Becker College.
