Bristol, RI - Rivier College (2-4 overall; 0-0 GNAC) lost in 5
sets to Roger Williams University before going on to win their
first 2 matches of the season to finish 2-1 on the weekend and
second place in the Roger Williams University Invitational. Senior
Nicole Rodriguez and sophomore Kenna
Finlayson were named to the All Invitational Team for the
Raiders.

In a match between last year's TCCC champion, Roger Williams
University, and one of the top teams in the GNAC, Rivier College,
neither team backed down and played a great 5 set game to open the
tournament. The first match of the day eventually turned out to
decide the tourney champion and it came down to a 13-13 tie in set
5 before RWU scored the last 2 points for the victory.
Kenna Finlayson put in powerful performance
with a double double which included 19 kills and 15 digs while
lacing in 7 service aces and 2 blocks to lead the Raiders.
Caitie Callahan scooped up a team high 20 digs
while distributing 26 assists. Freshman Nicole
Peacock put back a team high 4 blocks for RIV while
Emileigh Cenedella picked up 15 digs in just 3
sets.

Rivier College vs University of New England
The Raiders picked up their first win of the season with a 3-1
victory over the Nor'Easters in the second match of the day. Middle
hitters Nicole Rodriguez and Nicole
Peacock set the tone for RIV combining for 16 kills and 5
blocks. First year player Nicole Boucher followed
with 6 kills and 3 blocks of her own. Utility player Lauren
Saccoccio stepped in as libero and tallied a team high 14
digs and 4 service aces while first year defensive player
Jessica Amaral picked up 8 digs in just 2
sets.

Rivier College vs NYU-Polytechnic
Rivier made it 2 in a row with a 3-1 win over NYU-Polytechnic in
the last match of the day. Senior Danielle Jacques
had a steady match with 5 kills, 9 digs, 2 ace serves, and 1 block
for the Blue and White. Team highs were recorded by Caitie
Callahan (30 assists), Kenna Finlayson
(13 kills), Lauren Saccoccio (15 digs),
Nicole Boucher (5 ace serves), Nicole
Rodriguez and Nicole Peacock ( 2 blocks
each).
