NEW LONDON, N.H. – September 16, 2010 – The
Colby-Sawyer women's volleyball team fell to the visiting Raiders
of Rivier College, 3-1 on Thursday evening in a non-conference
battle between intrastate foes. The Raiders improve their record to
3-5, while Colby-Sawyer drops to 3-4.
Rivier won by scores of 25-23, 25-21, 13-25, and 25-18.
The Raiders were led by a team-high 13 kills from sophomore
Kenna Finlayson (Derry, N.H.). She also added nine
digs and three aces. Three players saw double-figure digs led by 28
from junior Emileigh Cenedella (Townsend, Mass.).
Junior Lauren Saccoccio (Warwick, R.I.) and junior
Caitlin Callahan (Dedham, MA) had 12 and 13,
respectively. Callahan also had 22 assists in the win.
Colby-Sawyer was led by the TCCC leader in kills per set,
Michelle Doody (Franklin, Mass.). She put down a match-high 16
kills and added 10 digs. Freshman Ally Le-Bruno (Medfield, Mass.)
continued her great defensive play with a match-high 33 digs.
Freshman Emilee McBride (Strafford, N.H.) had three kills, three
solo blocks and three block assists.
Colby-Sawyer will host a tri-match against Anna Maria and
Castleton beginning at 11:00 am on Saturday. Rivier also plays a
tri-match on Saturday at Clark against MIT and the host, Clark
University at 1:00 pm.
