(Nashua, NH)Albertus Magnus College senior Brittany Geremia (Northford, CT) scored inside the first three minutes as the Falcons topped the Raiders, 1-0 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action.
Geremia recorded her second goal of the season as she was able to sneak a shot past Rivier goaltender Christine Surber (Langdon, NH) just 1:44 into the game. From that point on, Surber stopped the final eight shots she saw.
Rivier (5-7-1 overall, 2-5 GNAC) had their opportunities late in the game but were unable to capitalize. The loss snaps the Raiders four game winning streak.
Albertus Magnus (9-4 overall, 7-3 GNAC) goaltender Christina Dineson (Milford, CT) stopped all five shots as she recorded her third shutout in 2011.
Rivier will return to action on Saturday (10/15) afternoon as they host Anna Maria College in GNAC action. Albertus Magnus will travel to Emmanuel College in their next match on Saturday (10/15).
