(Nashua, NH) Seniors Meghan Hickey (Hampstead, NH) and Monica Rivera (Nashua, NH) had three point games as they won their final home game, 8-1 over Anna Maria College.
Hickey got the scoring started early as she knocked home a pass from sophomore Deanna Cetto (Sterling, MA) at the nine minute mark. 59 seconds later, Cetto connected for her own goal as she buried a shot on a break-a-way. Sophomore Christa Naso (Londondery, NH) would add her first goal of the season as she was able to find the back of the net off of a brilliant set up from Rivera.
Anna Maria's Alexa Hare (Sr., North Brookfield, MA) beat goalkeeper Cassandra Brown (Somersworth, NH) inside the 26 minute mark to make it a 3-1 Rivier lead at the half.
The Raiders (6-7-1, 3-5 GNAC) received goals from freshman Mary Donovan (Milford, NH), sophomore Mariah Payne (Concord, NH), Cetto, Rivera and freshman Erica Soucy (Worcester, MA) in the second half to give Rivier an 8-1 victory. For Soucy, it was her first collegiate goal and it came at 82:21.
All three seniors (Hickey, Rivera and Kristi Davis (Byfield, MA)) were honored at halftime and we thank them for their dedicated careers here at Rivier.
Rivier will turnaround quickly as they depart tomorrow morning for an afternoon game down at Johnson and Wales University (RI). Anna Maria will travel to Albertus Magnus on Tuesday for their next contest.
