(Nashua, NH) Playing the first and third games of a tri-match is never easy and the Rivier University Women's Volleyball team dug deep in their 3-0 win over Bates College this afternoon inside the Muldoon Gymnasium.

The Raiders (6-3 overall, 1-0 GNAC) were battled in every set by the Bobcats but it the momentus third set that has everyone on campus talking about.

Rivier found themselves trailing 22-17 late in the set. A service ace by freshman Nikki Deluga (Cotuit, MA) and a kill by senior Kenna Finlayson (Derry, NH) got the crowd back into the game as Rivier was within three points. After a service error on the Raiders, the ensuing volley gave Finlayson a chance to regain the momentum as she recorded her 16th kill of the game. Freshman Emily O'Reilly (San Francisco, CA) was on the serve as Bates began to fall apart when the score became 24-23 in Riv's favor. On the final volley, junior Nicole Peacock (Warwick, RI) was able to jump high in the air and swat down the 25th and final point of the match.

Finlayson finished with 16 kills while Peacock registered 7. Both junior Nicole Boucher (Windham, NH) and freshman Jackie Pisecco (Chelmsford, MA) chipped in with 6 kills as the Raiders won their second game of the day by a 3-0 final. O'Reilly was sharp as usual in her role as she was able to gain 29 assists and defensive specialist junior Jessica Amaral (East Providence, RI) recorded 14 digs.
