(Nashua, NH) The Rivier University Women's Volleyball team held off a resilant squad from Plymouth State as they over came a huge decifit to steal the fifth set and the match in non-conference action this evening.

Rivier took the first two sets and looked poised to take the clean sweep. However, Plymouth State battled back and was able to take sets three and four before holding a 7-2 lead in the fifth. The Raiders went on an improbable 13-5 run to earn their 7th victory of 2012.

Senior Kenna Finlayson (Derry, NH) was the leader for Rivier as she recorded 17 kills. Freshman Jackie Pisecco (Chelmsford, MA) had a career night as she added 12 kills of her own and junior Nicole Peacock (Warwick, RI) had 11.

Junior Jessica Amaral (East Providence, RI) was the defensive presence that Rivier needed as she made some incredible plays to keep the Raiders in the game. She finished with 16 digs.

Freshman Emily O'Reilly (San Francisco, CA) contributed 42 assists in the win.

Plymouth State was led by Casey Stoodley who had 13 kills and 15 digs. Kirsten Perrotta had 32 assists in the loss.

Rivier improves to 7-3 overall and will take travel to Keene State on Thursday night in their next match. Plymouth State, 3-8 overall, will host both UMass-Dartmouth and UMaine-Farmington in a tri-match on Saturday.
