Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women’s Soccer Defeats New England Col., 4-1

HENNIKER, N.H. – The Rivier women's soccer team earned a 4-1 victory over New England College in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action on Tuesday afternoon at Don Melander Field. 

With the result, the Raiders improved to 8-4-2 (7-1-1 GNAC) on the season, while the Pilgrims fell to 4-8-2 (1-6-2 GNAC). 

HOW IT HAPPENED 

  • The Pilgrims responded late in the first half, leveling the score. 

  • Sophomore Leah Morrier added another goal 24 seconds later, giving Rivier a 3-1 advantage. 

  • Morier recorded her second tally in the closing minutes of the game to cap the score, 4-1 

  • First-year goalkeeper Olivia Rosario made four saves to secure the win 

BOX SCORE BREAKDOWN 

  • Rivier held the advantage on corner kick opportunities, 9-1. 

  • The Raiders outshot the Pilgrims, 34-11, with 22 shots on goal.  

UP NEXT 

The Raiders continue GNAC play against the University of St. Joseph's (Conn.) on Saturday, Oct. 18. Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m. at USJ Soccer Field.
