Women’s Soccer Earns Historic Win Over Saint Joseph (Conn.), 2–1

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. –The Rivier women's soccer team earned a historic 2–1 victory over Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) opponents the University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) on Saturday afternoon, marking the Raiders' first win over the Blue Jays since 2011.
 
With the milestone win, the Raiders improved to 9-4-2 overall and 8-1-1 in GNAC play, while the Blue Jays fell to 4-9-1 (4-5-1 GNAC). 
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Sophomore Leah Morrier powered Rivier's offense, netting both goals, her 13th and 14th of the season
  • Morrier broke through in the 14th minute, burying a shot to put Rivier ahead 1–0 early
  • The Blue Jays equalized in the 32nd minute, sending the teams into halftime tied 1–1
  • The Raiders came out strong after the break, when Morrier struck again four minutes into the second half for the eventual game-winner, tying the most goals in a season since 2014
