NEWTON, Mass. – The Rivier men's soccer team earned its third straight Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) win Saturday afternoon, defeating Lasell 3-1 at Taylor Field.
With the victory, the Raiders improved to 5-4-6 (5-2-2 GNAC) while the Lasers dropped to 4-9-2 (2-6-2 GNAC).
HOW IT HAPPENED
- First-year Tanner Keenan broke through for the Raiders 15 minutes in, cleaning up a rebound off the post to give Rivier the early advantage.
- The Raiders maintained high pressure for the remainder of the half, but the score held at 1-0 heading into the break.
- Keenan struck again in the 50th minute, pouncing on a failed Lasers clearance and slotting it home to double the Raiders' lead.
- Junior Cameron Rodrigues netted his first goal of the season in the 85th minute, putting the Raiders up 3-0.
- Lasell added a late goal in the final minute, making the final score 3-1.
