2025-26 Season Preview: Women’s Ice Hockey

NASHUA, N.H. – After tying Worcester State for the top spot in the Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Preseason Poll, the Rivier women's ice hockey team opens its 2025–26 season at home against No. 10 Nazareth on Friday, Oct. 31, at 7:00 p.m. at Conway Arena. 

LAST SEASON 

  • The Raiders' season came to a close in the MASCAC Championship, where they fell to Plymouth State, 2–1, after four hard-fought overtime periods. 

  • The team earned the third seed in the postseason after finishing 13-10-1 (8-3-1 MASCAC) in the regular season, a program record for most wins in a single season. 

  • Rebecca McKelvey and head coach Marykate Drinkwater highlighted the MASCAC Postseason Awards, taking home the Player of the Year and Head Coach of the Year honors, respectively.  

  • Molly Dukesherer was named to the All-Conference Second Team. 

  • McKelvey closed the season as the conference leader with 31 points and a league-best 19 goals. 

  • Jessica Driscoll finished third in the conference with a +20 plus/minus rating. 

CAPTAINS 

  • Classmates Molly Hurley and Dukesherer will lead as assistant captains.  

NEWCOMERS 

  • The 2024-25 All-Conference Second Team goalkeeper, Rachel Hinkley, rounds out Drinkwater's coaching staff for this season.   

  • The incoming student-athletes are headlined by 11 first-year players. 

SCHEDULE 

  • The season kicks off at Conway Arena with a matchup against Nazareth (10/31). 

  • The Raiders will host Salem St. in their conference opener on 11/11. 

  • On 11/21, the team will hold its Ryan Driscoll Memorial game against MCLA. 

  • Youth Hockey Night will be on 1/23 versus Anna Maria.  

  • Hockey Fights Cancer Night will take place on 1/31, as the Raiders take on Framingham St. 

  • Senior Night will be celebrated on 2/20 prior to a conference clash with the Trailblazers 

  • The regular season wraps up with a road game against Worcester St. on 2/21.
