Men's Soccer Draws With Emerson

NASHUA, N.H. – The Rivier men's soccer team closed out non-conference play with a 1-1 draw with Emerson on Wednesday evening at Joanne Merrill Field.

With the result, the Raiders moved to 2-4-6, while the Lions moved to 3-4-5. 

HOW IT HAPPENED 
  • The Raiders got on the board early as a result of an own goal by the Emerson 
  • Rivier closed out the half with steady defensive play, as first-year Lucas Sades saved four shots to protect the 1-0 lead heading into halftime.
  • Emerson found the equalizer in the 68th minute. 
  • Mitchell Ward had a late opportunity to put the Raiders ahead, but was unable to convert.
BOX SCORE BREAKDOWN
  • Sades recorded eight saves.
  • Emerson held the advantage on corner kick opportunities, 5-3.
  • The Lions outshot the Raiders, 17-3.

The Raiders return to Joanne Merrill Field on Saturday, October 11, for a conference clash with Mitchell. The team will celebrate its seniors ahead of the 12:00 p.m. kickoff.
