WINTHROP, Mass. – Juniors
Sophia Quinlan and
Brianna Spinelli of the Rivier field hockey team have been named to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) All-Conference Teams, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon.
Quinlan earned All-Conference Second Team
honors following a historic season anchoring the Raiders' backline. The Salem, N.H., native started all 19 games on defense, recording a program-record 10 defensive saves, the most in a single season and career in Rivier history. Her 10 defensive saves also ranked tied for eighth nationally. Quinlan added her first career goal this season, scoring on her only career shot.
Spinelli was selected to the All-Conference Third Team after a record-breaking offensive campaign. The Lynn, Mass., native led the team with a career-high 33 points on 15 goals and three assists. Both her 33 points and 15 goals set new single-season program records.
