WINTROP, Mass. – Following a historic season in which the Rivier women's soccer team advanced to the GNAC Championship for the first time in program history, five Raiders were named to Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) All-Conference Teams headlines by sophomore forward
Leah Morrier being named the Offensive Player of the Year, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon.
Morrier added a GNAC All-Conference First Team to her portfolio, while graduate midfielder
Samantha Franks was named All-Conference First Team, as well as sophomore defender
Nadia Laxa. Senior goalkeeper
Bri Nugent earned All-Conference Second Team honor, while first-year defender
Hayleigh Young was named to the All-Conference Third Team.
Morrier started all 21 games for the Raiders, leading the offense with 45 points on 18 goals and nine assists. The Plaistow, N.H., native set new program records for both goals and assists in a single season. The former GNAC Player of the Week ranked second in the GNAC in goals and tied for second in assists, averaging one goal and 2.32 points per game in conference play.
Franks rounded out her career with a standout season, starting in 20 of Rivier's 21 games. The Derry, N.H., native tallied a career-best 16 points on five goals and six assists. Franks opened the 2025 campaign with a career-high three points in a win over Southern Maine. Along with her success on the field, Franks served as a captain to the 2025 squad, providing leadership and guidance throughout the season.
Laxa earned back-to-back All-Conference selections after another strong year on the Raiders' backline. The Virginia Beach, Va., native contributed three assists, tying for second among team defenders in points, while helping hold opponents to just 37 goals all season.
Nugent, the 2024 GNAC Goalkeeper of the Year, secured her second straight All-Conference honor following another stellar performance in net. The Killingworth, Conn., native recorded a career-best 0.930 goals-against average and a .794 save percentage, both ranking fourth in the conference. The two-time GNAC Goalkeeper of the Week made 50 saves, allowed just 13 goals, and posted a 9-2-2 record.
Young capped off a stellar rookie season, leading all Rivier defenders in points with six. The Canterbury, Conn. native assisted in her first collegiate game against Southern Maine to notch her first collegiate point. Young posted her first collegiate goal, as well as her first multi-point game, in the 4-0 win over Mitchell.
