WORCESTER, Mass. – The Rivier women's ice hockey team fell 1-0 to Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) foe Worcester St. Saturday evening at the Worcester Ice Center.
With the loss, the Raiders dropped to 2-3-0 (2-1-0 MASCAC), while the Lacers improved to 4-2-0 (3-0-0 MASCAC).
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Rivier opened the contest with a powerplay opportunity, with first-year Mary Kelley recording the best chance over the two-minute stretch.
- The Raiders earned two more powerplay opportunities in the first period, but were unsuccessful, leaving both teams scoreless after one
- Both squads continued to trade scoring chances in the second stanza, but were unable to convert, with Rivier holding an edge in shots on target, 13-9.
- Worcester St. scored the game winning tally at 10:17 into the third period

- Junior goalie Taylor Bruno logged 40 saves in net
- First-year Casey Roth recorded a team-high seven shots in the outing
