NASHUA, N.H. – The Rivier women's ice hockey team shut out non-conference opponent New England Col., 2-0, on Tuesday evening at Conway Arena.
With the result, the Raiders improved to 5-3, while the Pilgrims dropped to 3-5.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Despite Rivier pouring on a 36-13 shot advantage, neither side broke through as the first period ended 0-0.
- The Raiders' best look of the second frame came in the final 30 seconds, when junior Jessica Driscoll found first-year Casey Roth on a breakaway, but the Pilgrims' netminder denied it to keep it scoreless.
- Current MASCAC Rookie of the Week, first-year Chloe Bryda, broke through at the 6:26 mark of the final frame to put the Raiders ahead.
- Driscoll added the insurance tally, connecting with first-year Maeve Kelly with four minutes left to play.
