WINTHROP, Mass. – Rivier men's volleyball junior outside hitter Matthew McCloskey has been selected to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Second Team, the conference office announced Monday morning.

The Salem, N.H. native was a major contributor for the Raiders' 2025 season in which the team qualified for the postseason tournament, recording a 2.67 kills per set rate while amassing a .243 hitting percentage, which sit at 15th and 12th in the GNAC, respectively, at the time of publication. McCloskey added 42 blocks, 23 service aces, and 63 digs over his third collegiate campaign.

McCloskey recorded double-digit kill totals in 10 contests this year, with a season-high 16 kills coming in a three-set victory over Emmanuel (Mass.) on April 5. On March 18 in a road matchup at Elms, he posted 14 kills, four aces, and two digs.

McCloskey and the Raiders will look to make a push for the GNAC crown in 2026.
