NASHUA, N.H. – Rivier women's ice hockey sophomore Rebecca McKelvey was named a 2024-25 New England Division III Women's All-Star, the New England Hockey Writers Association announced last week.
McKelvey, named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Player of the Year last month, is the first player in program history to earn the regional honors.
The Barre, Vt. native posted 19 goals and 12 assists in 27 games as the Raiders finished their season with a 15-11-1 overall record, the best mark in the program's four-year history, with a berth in the MASCAC title game. McKelvey finished tied-14th in the nation in points per game (1.15) after upping her point total by 20 and her goals by 12 to help Rivier score the most goals in a single season in program history (64). The sophomore also scored six power-play goals and three game-winning goals over the 2024-25 campaign. In the MASCAC Quarterfinals on Feb. 26, McKelvey recorded a point on each of the Raiders' five goals (2-3-5) to help the squad advance in the conference's inaugural postseason tournament.
McKelvey will be honored on Tuesday, April 22 at an awards reception at the Price Restaurant in Saugus, Mass.
