WINTHROP, Mass. – After recording 14 total blocks this past weekend at the SUNY Poly Invitational, junior middle blocker
Tyler Dickinson has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday afternoon.
Dickinson opened the season with a five-block performance against RV Nazareth, while tacking on seven kills and a .700 hitting percentage.
The Lincoln, R.I. native tallied another nine blocks in day two of the invitational. He began the day with three blocking assists against No. 3 Juniata and added another six total blocks, three solo, in the 3-2 reverse sweep win over SUNY Poly.
Dickinson and the rest of the Rivier men's volleyball team return to the court Saturday, Jan. 17, for a non-conference tri-match with Curry and Adrian. The opening serve is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
