FITCHBURG, Mass. –  The Rivier men's ice hockey team fell to Fitchburg St. 7-1 in Massachusetts Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) play on Saturday evening at the Wallace Civic Center.

With the result, the Raiders moved to 2-16-1 (2-6-0 MASCAC), while the Falcons moved to 13-5-0 (6-1-0 MASCAC). 

HOW IT HAPPENED 

• Fitchburg St. struck twice in the opening three minutes of the first period and extended the lead to three at the 10:28 mark.
• The Falcons knocked in the loan goal of the second frame to extend their lead to four. 
• Fitchburg St. recorded three more tallies, including a power-play goal, over a three-minute span.
• Sophomore Anthony Dalessio scored the lone goal for Rivier on a feed from junior Shawn Golden at 13:03 in the third.
• Fitchburg St. continued to apply pressure in the offensive zone, but were unable to add one more score, sealing the 7-1 win.

BOX SCORE BREAKDOWN 

• The Falcons outshot the Raiders 45-26. 
• Sophomore Josh Kirton made 38 saves.
• First-year Brogan Andrus recorded a team high five shots on net.
