WENHAM, Mass. – Seventh-inning scoring lifted the baseball team past Gordon, 3-1, in non-conference action Thursday afternoon at J. Tec White Field.
With the result, the Raiders improved to 6-8, while the Fighting Scots dropped to 4-11.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Fighting Scots took a 1-0 lead after the first inning.
- Sophomore Colton Colleran sparked the third with a single down the third-base line, and junior Sebastien Reis ripped a double to left-center, bringing Colleran home to knot things up at 1-1.
- In the seventh, first-year Shay Collins sparked the rally with a leadoff single, and senior Owen Medlock followed by reaching on an error. Colleran lifted a sacrifice fly to bring Collins home, and Reis ripped a double to right-center to score Medlock, giving the Raiders a 3-1 edge.
- Junior Sean Kuhlhof got the start, throwing six innings, striking out four, before senior Anthony Morro took over in the bottom of the seventh and fanned two to hold the lead.
- Junior Chris Volino worked the eighth with one strikeout, and senior Ty Baker closed it out in the ninth to secure the 3-1 victory.
