Lydon Becomes First All-American in Rivier Men’s Lacrosse History

SPARKS, Md. – Sophomore goalkeeper Jake Lydon became the first All-American in Rivier men's lacrosse program history after earning USA Lacrosse Magazine Honorable Mention recognition, the organization announced Wednesday. He was one of two members of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) to earn All-American honors.

The Rowley, Mass. native put together an outstanding sophomore season, helping the Raiders to an 18-1 overall record, the program's second consecutive conference title, and a return trip to the NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championship. Lydon was named the GNAC Defensive Player and Goalkeeper of the Year after posting a 66.5% save percentage, 161 total saves, and a 5.05 goals-against average, which ranked first in Division III at the time of publication. He also earned GNAC Goalkeeper of the Week honors six times in his first season as the team's starter.

Lydon will return for his junior season in 2027, looking to help the Raiders capture a third straight conference title and make another run in the NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championship.
