NASHUA, N.H. – The Rivier field hockey team was bested by Keene St., 9-2, in its season and home opener Tuesday evening at Joanne Merrill Field.
With the loss, the Raiders dropped to 0-1, while the Owls open their campaign 1-0.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Both squads traded goals in the early going of the first quarter. Keene St. found the back of the net before seniors Shaelyn Burke and Sophia Quinlan connected to level the contest at one just 3:47 into the frame. The Owls added three more goals down the stretch, increasing their advantage to three at the end of one.
- First-year Kali Judkins found senior Brianna Spinelli just 2:47 into the second quarter, trimming the deficit to two. Keene St. closed out the first half scoring with just under five minutes remaining, taking a 5-2 edge into the break.
- The Owls registered four more goals in the final 30 minutes of action, securing their first win of the 2026 season.
