NASHUA, N.H. - The Rivier women's soccer team delivered a dominant offensive performance, earning a 7-1 victory over Nichols on Thursday evening in a non-conference matchup.
With the result, the Raiders improved to 4-1-1 (3-0-0 GNAC), while the Blue Jays dropped to 1-6-1 (0-2-0 CNE).
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Olivia Rosario got her fifth start of the season in net for the Raiders.
- The Raiders found the back of the net first as Bailey Gatchell scored in the 15th minute off an assist from Leah Morrier to give Rivier an early 1-0 lead.
- Just under six minutes later, Morrier added to the Rivier lead, scoring off an assist from Bianca Casna to make it 2-0.
- The Raiders continued to pressure the Nichols defense, with Gatchell recording back-to-back shots in the 23rd minute.
- Rivier extended the lead to 3-0 when Kelly Callahan found the back of the net off assists from Ciarra Terry and Morrier.
- The Raiders continued to generate offensive opportunities, earning a corner kick and recording additional shots as they maintained control of possession.
- Hannah Smith added another goal just before halftime, scoring in the 44th minute to give Rivier a 4-0 advantage heading into the break.
