NASHUA, N.H. - The Rivier men's soccer team hosted the Nor'easters of U. of New England (UNE) for their 2026 home opener on Friday evening for a non-conference competition. The Raiders battled through a physical game but were shutout by the Nor'easters, 2-0.  

With the result, Rivier dropped to 1-1-0 while the Nor'easters improved to a perfect 2-0-0. 

HOW IT HAPPENED 

• Both sides battled through a scoreless opening half, with the Raiders holding a slight advantage in the attack after recording three shots on goal compared to the Nor'easters' two. 

• Coming out of the break, UNE finally broke the deadlock in the 53rd minute as Reaves Debin took it from midfield and found the back of the net to take a 1-0 lead.  

• Brady Colgan doubled the Nor'easters' lead in the 79th minute, putting the ball between the pipes on an unassisted effort to make it 2-0. 

BOX SCORE BREAKDOWN 

• UNE finished with three corner kicks while Rivier tallied two.  

• On the scoresheet, the Raiders had an offensive lead finishing with 13 total shots to the Nor'easters' nine.

Rivier men's soccer returns to Joanne Merrill Field on Sunday, Sept. 6, to face UMass Dartmouth in a non-conference matchup at 11:00 a.m., the second game of the Raiders' three-game homestand.
