NASHUA, N.H.

The Rivier University Men's Lacrosse team (2-1, GNAC 2-1) will host the Monks of Saint Joseph's College (4-3, GNAC 2-1) this Wednesday evening in a Great Northeast Atlantic Conference matchup. The faceoff is set for 7:00 PM on Joanne Merrill Field at the Linda Roberts Pavilion. The Raiders are looking to make it two wins in a row on the heels of a tremendous fourth quarter comeback win Saturday at Emmanuel College outlasting the Saints 11-10. For Saint Joseph's, their most recent contest was 16-8 victory Saturday at Johnson & Whales University.

Players to Watch for the Raiders:

Freshman attackman Michael Ference (Salem, NH) exploded with 4 big goals this past Saturday at Emmanuel, adding to what is already an impressive first year campaign for the lefty. Ference is also tied for the team lead in assists with 5 helpers over the course of their first 3 games.

Freshman midfielder Max Kelley (Dracut, MA) made his debut for the team last Saturday and had an immediate impact on the offense. Kelley registered 1 goal and 3 assists in the game with 2 of them coming late in the 4th quarter to give the Raiders a lead that they would never relinquish.

Freshman midfielder Alan Cozzolino (Hamden, CT) played a large role in the team's victory over Emmanuel. The rookie provided the team with a decided advantage in time of possession by going 13 of 19 at the faceoff X. Cozzolino has emerged as the team's top faceoff threat with a 49% success rate so far this season.

This game marks the 11th overall meeting between Rivier and Saint Joseph's College. The Monks hold the advantage with a 8-3 record over the Raiders. However, in the six most recent contests, each team holds claim to three wins apiece.
