Four Fall Sports Raiders Appointed to GNAC All-Sportsmanship Teams

WINTHROP, Mass. – Head coaches from all four fall varsity athletic programs have appointed Rivier student-athletes to represent the Raiders on the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) All-Sportsmanship teams, the conference announced this month.

Field Hockey

Shaelyn Burke, a junior from Salem, N.H., started in all 19 games for the Raiders this fall. Burke had a career-year recording nine points on four goals and one assist. Her first career goal and points came against Fitchburg St. (9/9).

"Shaelyn was always the first person to help someone up when they were knocked down. She supports her teammates in the same way, consistently there for others and wanting everyone to succeed." – Head Coach Hayley Sutherland

Men's Soccer

Andrew Lennox, a junior from Nashua, N.H. started in all 20 games for the men's soccer team this fall. Lennox totaled three points on a goal and an assist and served a key piece on the Raiders' back line.

"Andrew shows what true leadership looks like on and off the field. His unwavering commitment, strong character, and positive approach show exactly what it means to play with heart, integrity, and passion." – Head Coach Jon Cross

Women's Soccer

Lydia Payne, a senior from Litchfield, N.H., served as a captain for the 2025 squad, seeing time in two contests, making one start in the campaign.

"Lydia brought a level of maturity and enthusiasm that our team truly needed. She was a vocal leader whose presence was felt every day, and one of the strongest, most rewarding players I've had the privilege to coach. She's always someone we could count on to lead by example." – Head Coach Daniel Milton

Women's Volleyball

Sam Driend, a junior from Sandown, N.H. appeared in 106 sets over 30 matches. Driend posted 188 kills, 258 digs, 54 service aces, and 27 total blocks. This is Driend's second All-Sportsmanship Team selection.

"Sami represents what we want our program to stand for. She competes with heart, carries herself with strong character class, and elevates everyone around her. Her sportsmanship isn't just something she shows in big moments—it's who she is every day, and we're incredibly proud to see her recognized by the GNAC for it." – Head Coach Jeff Costa '05
