WINTHROP, Mass. – A trio of Raiders earned conference recognition after a memorable season, as junior Madelyn Poulton and first-year Hayleigh Young were named to the Women's Lacrosse Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) All-Conference Teams, while senior Bailey Carroll received All-Sportsmanship Team honors.
Their efforts played a pivotal role in leading the Raiders back to the GNAC playoffs for the first time since 2018, marking a major milestone for the program.
Poulton powered an elite defensive unit and earned All-Conference First Team recognition after putting together one of the best seasons of her career. She finished the regular season with 17 ground balls and posted a career-high 31 caused turnovers, consistently disrupting opponents and setting the tone on the defensive end.
Young made an immediate impact in her first collegiate season, earning a spot on the All-Conference Second Team. The Canterbury, Conn. native appeared in all 18 games and emerged as a key offensive contributor, tallying 20 points on 18 goals and two assists. She was also dominant on the draw, breaking the program's single-season record with an impressive 79 draw controls.
Carroll, a senior captain, rounded out the honors by being named to the GNAC All-Sportsmanship Team. She started 13 games this season and recorded 13 ground balls along with a career-best 19 caused turnovers. Head coach Maura Murphy describes her as " a tremendous impact on our program from the second she stepped onto campus her freshman year. She is dedicated, motivated and always puts forth her best effort to help the team succeed. She holds herself and her teammates to a high standard and is well respected not just on the lacrosse field but within the Rivier community." While her on-field production was significant, Carroll's leadership, poise, and respect for the game defined her final season and earned her conference-wide recognition.
